Gleevec (Imatinib)
So after visiting with my oncologist on a recent office visit, he decided that I was a suitable candidate for a courcse of Gleevec teatment. Apparently, if you have had a recurrence like I did, they feel that it is justified and will prescribe it.
I can see why they hold off because its about $3,600 a month for the drug from the pharmacy at the hospital I go to. That buys you one pill a day. From everything I've read, it seems to be well worth it.
